Broker's Comments
At first glance, the Pacer 376 oozes race pedigree, from its fractional rig, bluff bow sitting high in the water, its wide side-decks with outboard chain plates, the shallow open cockpit with huge wheel and the transom-less stern. On closer inspection though, there is a balance toward short-handed sailing with furling headsail, lazyjacks on the main and multi-purchase backstay tensioner led back to helming positions on either side of the cockpit. Down below, all is light and airy courtesy of large windows and many hatches. Once again, the keel stepped mast, the forward facing nav station with full size chart table and the no-nonsense practical layout suggest ‘racer’. Then some understated concessions towards luxury start creeping in such as, the smell of the sumptuous leather cushions in the saloon, full galley with gimballed stove and fridge, large folding saloon table. There is standing headroom throughout and a very roomy heads/wet room with shower. The standard of fit and quality of fittings (especially the electronics) suggest a Scandinavian or German yard. Who would have thought ‘South Africa’? Fantastic value considering the perfect balance between offshore cruiser and ocean greyhound.
