Broker's Comments
Sadly it is an oft-repeated story and one which we in the brokerage world hear far too often. The seasoned yachtsman or woman eventually acquires the perfect yacht. One they may have spent half a lifetime dreaming of owning, only to find that time and tide wait for no-one. Advancing years and ill health then forces the sale of their well found and lovingly maintained vessel. This fine Pilot House Victoria 34 (known as the Francis 34) is just such a vessel. Her current owner has equipped her with everything one might wish for in order to cruise in safety and comfort in our often inhospitable seas. Cutter rigged she can be safely reefed from her cockpit. Her self tacking staysail means she may be sailed from inside her pilot house in heavy weather and of course her dual helm position and bow thruster make handling under engine a cinch. She is ideal for single handed work in all weathers.
Moulded by Northshore and fitted out by Victoria Yachts the Francis 34 bears all the hallmarks of a quality English yard. These yachtsare powerful sailing vessels and the Francis 34 is no motor sailer, although her three cylinder Yanmar will certainly help you to windward if you are needing to get there without too much hassle.
She is very well equipped and very well presented and she could be launched and sailed tomorrow as she stands. Currently ashore in our yard she should be high on the list of anyone who is seeking a seriously well found cruising yacht. Don't leave it too late....'Time and Tide' remember!
