Mast and boom are Z-spars aluminium. Mast 13m, boom 6m. There are two winches to the mast, jamming cleats for halyards and reefing lines. Tri-colour/anchor light, VHF aerial and wind transducer at top of mast.
Standing rigging is 8mm stainless steel, fractional rig. There are two cap shrouds, forestay to a bridle and mast stays via a spreader. This rigging was replaced in 2004 and substantially stronger fittings than standard were used to the mast for the shrouds and forestay. There is a Lewmar mainsheet traveller at the rear of the cockpit and jib sheet travellers either side of the nacelle. The roller furler system is Plastimo 901. There are 2 x Barient two speed self tailing sheet winches and one small winch for the furler. The rig is light to handle, easy to reef and either one of us can sail the boat single handed. Mainsail: 41.5m² cruising quality sail with 7 full length battens to Frederikson low friction ball race slider system, new 1999. Genoa: 25.5m² cruising quality roller furling genoa, new 1999. Construction
Construction | GRP |
---|---|
Underwater profile | Multihull |
Finish | Paint finish |
The construction material is GRP, solid below the waterline and to 30cm above. The hulls above this, decks and nacelle are GRP foam sandwich. There are buoyancy chambers under each berth forward and aft.
The two hulls are identical and are joined by 3 substantial aluminium beams fixed by alloy clamps using M14 high tensile stainless steel bolts. The nacelle contains the centre cabin and cockpit areas and forms a safe walkway forward to the mast and anchor lockers. The hulls have keels for good windward performance and skegs to support and protect the rudders. The keels are reinforced to take the ground.
