Broker's Comments

The Prout Scirocco 26 is a much sought-after and rare boat to come across these days and this one is an even rarer find!

The current owner informs me that this boat's history begins when she was sold by Prout straight out of the mould to her first owner in or around the year 1982. That owner then had the boat placed into dry storage with a view to fitting her out but never completed or launched the boat.

Around the year 2000 Prout Holdings Ltd went into administration and at that same time the current owner bought the boat and had her moved into another dry storage compound and worked on her with a view to completing her to a fine standard ready for his own personal use. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances that didn’t work out.

She has been partially kitted out as can be seen from our listing and just needs the final push to complete her mainly cosmetically as most of the engineering work appears to have been completed. That said, her sails, mast, boom and Beta 14 engine were all professionally installed in 2020 and she was actually launched for the first time in 2021!

Her mainsail is on a roller system which the owner tells me works exceptionally well and is a great benefit to the single handed sailor.

So as can be seen from her history, she is in effect like a new boat in need of that final touch from her next owner to complete her fit out to their own standard.

This truly is a very rare find indeed and I wouldn’t think she’s going to be hanging around for very long. With this history she is just waiting for a cat enthusiast to pick up the helm!

This boat appears to be in excellent condition.
