Broker's Comments
This commercial utility vessel is fully operational and capable of service as a basic offshore supply vessel or for other commercial applications. Those applications could include: commercial diving, cargo transportation, environmental clean up, scientific research, Underwater Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) missions, salvage operations, or expedition charter service.
Per the USCG website: "Utility Vessels are less than 100 Gross Registered Tons (GRT) with the hull made of steel. These Offshore Supply Vessels typically carry deck cargo and offshore workers. Below deck cargo is generally limited to fresh/potable water and excess fuel. They typically carry oilfield equipment and personnel. They may also carry packaged hazardous material in accordance with DOT regulations. These vessels may also transfer excess fuel to offshore facilities."
The aft clear deck of 55’ x 25’ has a loading capacity of 67 tons which opens up a number of commercial opportunities for hauling freight. Inside, eight private cabin spaces accommodate 15 in crew quarters. There's a large galley and dining area and two marine heads with showers. The accommodation is spartan but features adequate space for setting up suitable berthing and guest areas for overnight charter as a mother ship for expeditions or as a crewed scientific research vessel. The vessel has been operated under USCG Inspection Certification and as an Uninspected Passenger Vessel (Six-Pack).
Mechanically the twin 12V71 diesel engines with pneumatic air starting operate reliably, regularly, and are properly maintained. The same is true for the two 40 KW generators which provide three-phase power. This power capacity is remarkable and could be harnessed for a number of purposes. With the extensive fuel, water, and waste capacity aboard the vessel can operate independently underway or on station for long periods of time.
Commercial grade navigation electronics include a Furuno 36 NM radar, Furuno Navnet MFD navigation system, AIS transceiver, and more. The unique dual-helm features forward and aft facing stations in the pilothouse. The aft station provides for precise maneuvering of the cargo deck for docking, on-station position holding for scientific and ROV missions, or offshore loading and offloading of cargo, fuel, and personnel.
For the asking price this capable ship represents an excellent value for a buyer seeking a large commercial workboat that is flexible for a variety of missions.
